15/10/06  CARR VALE UTD 1 VS MINERS ARMS 1

Vale kicked off this fixture against an unbeaten Miners Arms determined to spoil that record. The game kicked off with both teams looking to attack and play football.Miners settling into a rythm straight away and caused a few worries early on with there fast forwards.Carr Vale weathered the early storm and started to play some good football both sides creating chances. The half ended 0 - 0 a hard but fair first half.

The second half started and within a minute we went 0 - 1 down to a good strike in off the post from S Clark. Again we showed great team spirit and for the next 25mins took control of the game and created some good chances and on another day could have had a penalty. Miners only having the odd break as we pushed forward for the equaliser, it came from Lee Deville with a fine header on the far post.Again we pushed on but the winner was not to come and Miners pushed on for the last 5 mins with Andy Smart pulling off a fine save in the last minute.

1 - 1 probably a fair result up to know miners are the best footballing side we have playedand will be there or ther abouts at the end of the season hopefully just behind us.
Next week at home again to top of the league Devonshire .

CARR VALE UTD  5  VS INNOVATE  3

Vale kicked off this game on the back of two defeats and really needed a result for morale.we started well playing good possesion football and a back pass to Innovates keeper did not reach him as Haye tackled and Henry stroked in the loose ball. Innovate replied with some good football and good clearances from Winter and Simms kept us in the lead. The game was end to end stuff with both sides creating chances.innovate equalising after 15 mins.Half time 1-1.

We kicked off the second half confident in our ability to push on but with half an hour to go found ourselves 1 - 3 down after some silly mistakes again costing us dear.

Unlike the previous home game where heads dropped and we got beat fair and square we rallied around and played some great football to score 4 goals in the last 30 mins. Goals came from Haye ,Lucas and Jessop 2.The whole team stuck together and battled hard to get the result. WELL DONE LADS.

I would just like to wish Ryan Clifford and Mike Blakeley all the best on there new carreers in the Army and Navy and dont forget to come home on leave to play for the Vale.
The rest of us will just have to battle on until the injured players come back after xmas..

AFC Angel 3   Carr Vale UTD 2

Another trip away this time to Highfield Park Newbold, how lucky we are.On arrival we was shown into the dressing room, sorry showers enough room for 5 to get changed the rest deciding the car park had more elbow room. Then shown to the pitch smaller than our little pitch, no room at all for our flowing football.

Within seconds of kicking off a strong tackle from A Simms saw a couple of Angels players getting upset and Simms getting a split lip for his birthday, and a warning from the referee. I thought if you raised your hands to an opponent you got sent off. This set the tone with Vale not settling down to play football. After chances falling at either end and Vale keeper A Smart pulling off 2 fine saves Drury gave away a penalty with a mistimed tackle 1-0 down. We battled back and there keeper pulled off fine saves from Blakeley and Jessop. The last 20 mins of the first half Vale got on top and centre half Drury got forward to score from an acute angle.Half time 1-1 .

Second half kicked off and we dropped off for some reason with Angel coming out raring to go and went 2-1 up after there forward turned our defence on the edge of the six yard box.But we again battled on and came back with best move of the game playing from the back and Ben Haye scoring.
We tried to push on from here but we really didnt adapt to the small pitch and always looked in trouble against the long throw.Again there goal came from a long throw with a forward turning to easily laying on to a colleague.

A better display and effort than last week with the pitch beating us more than the opposition ,but good luck to Angel they used it to there benefit.

Next week home to Innovate our first six pointer of the season.

CARR VALE UTD 1 DERBYSHIRE TIMES 5

After a great start to the season and going into this game top of the league the Times brought us back down to earth with a bang being deserving 1 - 5 winners .

We started off playing good passing football and had a couple of chances early on, then after 5 mines a catalogue of errors saw us 1 down Garry Siddall unluckily putting into his own goal. We equalized after 25 mins through Ben Haye and went in at half time 1 - 1.After being put under lots of pressure in the last 10 mins having to defend 5 or 6 corners.

We went out in the second half and to be honest did not compete with some players disappearing from the game. Silly mistakes saw us concede 4 goals in the second half.

Let’s learn from this lads and put it behind us.
Ill bet that we will not play like this again.

See you all at training on wednesday..

17th Sept BARRACUDA 1  VS CARR VALE UTD 5

Another good display away from home especially after some forced changes in the team due to work commitments. Just shows we have a good squad with people playing in strange positions Ben!!

Started off like a house on fire Mike Blakeley scoring after 4 mins with a good header from a Mark Drury free kick. After 10 mins 2-0 up another towering header from Mike Blakeley from a great cross by Matt Jessop. After a brilliant flowing move from back to front Matt Jessop fired home from 18 yards.Chances followed but some good keeping from Barracudas keeper kept the score down until a good through ball from Ben haye to Ricky Lucas gave us  4 - 0 half time lead.

Second half kicked off with Mike Blakeley looking for his hat trick, a couple of good saves and the wood work denying him. Olly Henry nicked the 5th off mikes toe in the 55min to open his account for the season. The heat and being 5 up saw us drop the pace a little in the latter stages but even so there keeper played very well to stop us getting double figures. little disappointingly Barracuda got a consolation goal late on.

Again very pleased with the football we played excellent passing football with all the lads looking comfortable on the ball and passing well. Some good individual displays especially from Ben Haye who was shocked at being asked to play left back but played very well, but most of all pleased by the way we played as a team.

Well done lads..

Our first game of the season was against Innovate FC at North Wingfield on a very windy King George playing fields. After a shaky first ten mins Carr Vale started to play some good passing football and shaded a first half finishing 0-0. The second half started much the same with Mike Blakeley putting Carr Vale ahead with a fine individual goal. This inspired Innovate who put us under pressure for 15 mins, this pressure led to a corner which Carr vale defended poorly for Gary Githorpe to scramble home from close range.
The Vale responded well to the set back and pressed forward with Mike Blakeley getting his second after some good battling in the box from young Ashley Cheetham.Again Innovate pushed forward and Vale keeper Andy Smart pulled of a fine save to enable us to win 2-1.
All in all a good start with us showing passion and playing football to secure the win.
See you all at home on the 10th for our first home fixture against Royal Oak Brampton kick off
10.45am.
